Food is always being part of our way of traveling
The way we like to get to know other places and cultures. And so food is how we like to show the world our way of living and understanding life: from our open kitchen, in the heart of Palma de Mallorca.
The kitchen. The place where the most memorable moments of the Mediterranean family life have always been cooked. This is how we remember our childhood and our own family: full of color and smells that flooded the home every day of the week. And so we would love our children to remember their home this was too; with the “chaca-chaca” of knives kicking chopping boards, with all the beauty of fresh vegetables from our local market, with big pans & pots full of food for the family, big dining tables and paella-flavored Sundays.
Gastronomic tourism as a way to discover the local culture has always seemed to us an exquisite way to travel. Therefore, our passion is to put in the table the best of the Mediterranean cuisine to all visitors wishing to discover Mallorca. Our Spanish cooking course is filled up with the tricks our mums and grandmothers use in the kitchen . A delicious way to dive into our culture. So our Spanish cooking classes at Lonja 18 Open Kitchen Mallorca take place surrounded by cutting boards, fresh onions, tomatoes, peppers & olives, the tastiest olive oils, local “sobrasada”, “flying tortillas”, Spanish paellas and good times.
After four year of sharing our love for the the emotional, social and festive components of the Mediterranean food and table we continue with the same enthusiasm as the first day we opened this kitchen. Sharing this time and space with people from all over the world makes us really love what we do. Our kitchen is full of life every time we open its doors for a new experience. It fills up with stories. While we cook recipes with intention and devotion, we discover other places and cultures, we expand our minds with different points of view about life, about cooking or politics, we discover new trends, live projects and lifes full of projects. We share ideas. We talk to each other.
We now how every day cooking session at Lonja 18 begins but never how it´s going to end, since the pages are written through the stories of all those who participate in elaborating our menu and who end up becoming friends, some for a day, others for many more.
So thanks for all these years to all those who one day clicked our “ book now” button: for all the emotion and for all the stories. Do not forget to come visit us, be our guest!
